The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with VTU, CSI, QASDC and IIC had organized a 3-day hybrid mode FDP on “AI and Machine Learning for Healthcare Engineering” during 15-17 March 2023. The program was sphere headed by the HOD, CSE., Dr. B Rajalakshmi and successfully coordinated by Dr. B V Santosh Krishna. A good galaxy of resources from industry & academia were identified to deliver the sessions. The FDP concentrated on how Machine – Learning plays an important role in supporting the health care sector at various stages. A total of 165 external participants from various organizations from the nation participated in this event. Also 50 participants from NHCE participated in the event.
Dr Sumit Soman, Senior Data Scientist, Ericsson R&D, Bangalore inaugurated the FDP on 15th March 2023 in the presence of Dr. Manjunatha-Principal, Dr.R.J. Anandhi- Dean/Academics, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma-Dean/QASDC and Dr.B. Rajalakshmi-Head/CSE. All the HODs and participants from various institutions were present during the occasion.
Sessions
The FDP also delt with hands on sessions on how medical applications can be programed using various Machine Learning Algorithms – Machine Learning Categories, decision tree, Logistic Regression, SVM and Linear Regression and others. Overview on Python for Machine Learning – Key Packages were also covered. The event was sponsored by Eastencher Software Private Ltd, Bengaluru.
