SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS

Workshop on Internet of Things (IoT)

A workshop on “Internet of Things (IoT)” was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on 16th April 2026. The session was delivered by Mr. Sudhakar V, Embedded Project Engineer at Pantech Solutions India Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru. It was attended by interested sixth-semester students from all five sections.

The workshop aimed to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to IoT technologies. The session began with an introduction to IoT concepts, architecture, and real-world applications. The resource person explained how devices, sensors, and networks work together to enable smart and connected systems.

A hands-on session allowed students to work with Arduino/NodeMCU boards, sensors, and actuators. Participants learned how to interface sensors with microcontrollers and collect real-time data. Programming using the Arduino IDE helped students process, monitor, and display the collected data effectively.

The workshop also included demonstrations on transmitting data to cloud platforms for remote monitoring and control. In addition, the session highlighted various applications of IoT in domains such as smart homes, healthcare, and industrial automation.

Overall, the workshop was interactive, informative, and technically enriching. It enhanced students’ practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and awareness of emerging career opportunities in the field of Internet of Things (IoT).
