FDP on Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence:Strengthening Teaching Practices and Research Competencies
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Skill Development Centre, successfully organised a five-day Faculty Development Programme on “Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence: Strengthening Teaching Practices and Research Competencies” from 13th to 17th July 2026. The FDP brought together renowned academicians, industry experts, and researchers to provide insights into emerging trends in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Cloud Technologies, and Research Methodologies. Faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students from various institutions actively participated in the programme.
Expert sessions covered AI-driven cybersecurity, threat detection, cyber resilience, ethical challenges, and network security practices. Participants gained practical exposure to digital forensics, ethical hacking, cryptography, vulnerability assessment, and cybersecurity tools through demonstrations and hands-on activities. Sessions on web application security, penetration testing, OWASP vulnerabilities, and intrusion detection systems enhanced participants’ technical competencies.
The programme also encouraged discussions on industry-academia collaboration and emerging research opportunities in AI-assisted cybersecurity. A key highlight was the educational visit to the State Forensic Science Laboratory, where participants explored cybercrime investigation and advanced forensic analysis techniques. The final day focused on digital media literacy, promoting responsible digital citizenship, cyber ethics, privacy, and online safety. The FDP successfully strengthened participants’ knowledge, teaching practices, and research capabilities while fostering professional networking.
Feedback from participants reflected high satisfaction with the quality of sessions, practical learning opportunities, and expert resource persons. The programme concluded with a valedictory ceremony and certificate distribution, marking the successful completion of a highly enriching academic initiative.
