FDP - Generative AI and Prompt Engineering

The five-day Faculty Development Programme on “Generative AI and Prompt Engineering” was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with the Skill Development Centre from 28th July to 1st August 2025. The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, marking the formal inauguration. Dr. C. R. Rathish welcomed all dignitaries, participants, and organizers with an opening address. Dr. Asha Joseph, Head of the Department, introduced the FDP’s objectives and emphasized its relevance to the academic community. Chief Guest Mrs. Supriya Kennery highlighted the omnipresence of AI in today’s world and its real-world applications. Over the five days, participants engaged in expert-led sessions, hands-on workshops, and interactive discussions. Topics included foundational concepts of generative AI, prompt engineering techniques, ethical considerations, and classroom integration strategies. Eminent speakers from academia and industry shared their insights and practical experiences. The sessions were designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications. A total of 50 participants (14 external and 36 internal) actively took part in the program. The FDP successfully empowered faculty with the tools and knowledge to incorporate AI into their teaching and research practices.
