SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS

Workshop on A System-Level Perspective on Internet Data Delivery

A workshop titled “A System-Level Perspective on Internet Data Delivery” was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on 30 April 2026 at the Falconry Seminar Hall. The session was delivered by Mr. Tarun Y L, Associate AIML Engineer at Capulus Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru. It was attended by sixth-semester students enrolled in the open elective course Advanced Networking.

The speaker provided a comprehensive understanding of how data is transmitted across the Internet from a system-level perspective. He explained the roles of clients, servers, routers, and switches in ensuring efficient network communication. The importance of the TCP/IP layered architecture in organising and managing data flow was also clearly discussed.

The session highlighted how protocols such as TCP and IP ensure reliable and accurate data transmission. Real-world examples were used to explain packet transmission, routing, and overall network behaviour. A hands-on session was conducted to provide students with practical exposure to networking concepts, enabling them to explore basic configurations and observe how data flows between systems.

The workshop also covered key performance factors such as latency, bandwidth, and congestion. Overall, the session was informative and interactive, significantly enhancing the students’ theoretical understanding and practical skills related to Internet data delivery.
